President’s Message

I cannot believe that it is August already! We all hope you have been enjoying your summer so far. Soon our kids will be going back to school and fall will be upon us.

Pamela Moved!

In June our Office Manager, Pamela, moved out of state. As this was difficult news for us, we are happy to tell you that we have brought on a wonderful replacement. Taylor comes to us with an extensive background in retail and has been a great fit for our Firm. Feel free to reach out to Taylor at taylor@danetax.com and she would be happy to help you.

New Website is Up

In our spring newsletter we let you know that we have been working on a new website. Well, the website is finished and ready for you to explore! Feel free to visit our website at www.danetax.com. We hope you enjoy the new look.

Extensions are Expiring Soon!

For those that have tax return extensions, try to send us your tax documents soon. Business extensions expire on September 16th and individual extensions expire on October 15th. We want to make sure we have time to prepare and file your tax return prior to the deadline as there are no other extensions available.

Late Summer Tax Tip

Did you know that some states, including Minnesota, offer a tax deduction for K-12 expenses? These include school supplies, field trips, tuition, tutoring, instrument rental/lessons, and even driver’s education classes. If you have not already, start keeping track of these items so you can deduct them on next year’s tax return. Go to https://www.revenue.state.mn.us/qualifying-expenses where you can find more details about this deduction.
